I am now available to teach guitar and mandolin lessons in the New York City area or via Skype. I’ve been teaching private lessons on and off for the last 15 years to students of all ages and skill levels.

This past weekend I accompanied vocalist Rachel Millman on The Weekend Today Show (WNBC New York) along with bassist Mike Visceglia and keyboardist Daniel A. Weiss.

Is music free? Should file sharing be accepted as part of modernity? I read studies and look at statistics on the topic fairly regularly, and the debate frustrates the hell out of me.

Earlier this week I read “An Open Letter to Neil Portnow, NARAS and the Grammy Awards” by Steve Stoute. His words got me thinking about the value of art and how our culture perceives it through awards shows like the Grammy’s.

The other night I was restlessly flipping through TV channels looking for something to tire me out before bed, and I came across a documentary on copyright. Assuming I’d have trouble keeping my eyes open within the first five minutes, I started watching. An hour later, I found myself contemplating everything I’d learned and found it even harder to fall asleep.

As promised, here’s another remix kit featuring a track from Tributary. This track is basically a Meters-esque blues, featuring solos on the guitar, Hammond B3, and drums–plenty of licks to choose from!

Last year I started playing with Stellar Ego, a rock band featuring the music of Guy Prandstatter. Last October we started recording an album, which will be released Friday of next week (February 11) at Crash Mansion in NYC.

My mom sews helmet liners for our troops overseas, knits hats for chemo patients, and just about anything else you can put together with a needle and thread. Naturally, when I needed a cover for my guitar amp, I turned to her. Now she can make one for you, too.
