GUITAR, BASS & MANDOLIN LESSONS

I am available to teach guitar, bass, and mandolin lessons in Brooklyn, NY and over Zoom.

Over the last 20 years, I have taught private guitar lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, private guitar lessons can help you improve faster and get more enjoyment out of playing guitar.

LEARN THESE SKILLS IN YOUR
GUITAR, BASS, OR MANDOLIN LESSONS:

  • Understand the fretboard

  • Play your favorite songs and teach yourself songs by ear

  • Read music

  • Write your own songs

  • Play solos and improvise

  • Understand and apply music theory

  • Much, much more, just ask!

60 minute lessons start $85.

LESSON POLICIES:

Practicing: In order for students make weekly progress, I highly recommend at least 15 minutes of focused, daily practicing for beginners. As you improve, the amount of practice time will increase, much like getting your body in shape at the gym. Repetition is key to learning the guitar, and with good practice habits, students will amaze themselves with their improvement.

Payment: Lessons are paid for in advance on a monthly basis at the first lesson of every month, excluding your very first lesson (let’s make sure we like each other, first!).

Cancellations/Make-up Lessons: If you must cancel a lesson, 24 hour advance notification is required. Make-up lessons may be scheduled later with proper notification and pending my availability. There are no refunds for missed lessons.

If for some reason I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, I will provide at least 24 hours--usually much more--advanced notice. If we miss a lesson due to my schedule, I will credit you the lesson.

I understand that children get sick, emergencies happen, and some students or parents are reluctant to pay for lessons they might miss. Please realize that you are paying for my time whether or not you use it. I am very reasonable and lenient with this policy, but it is still necessary to hold us all accountable.

GUITARMAGEDDON

Every Spring I host a recital called Guitarmageddon, creating an opportunity for every student to play songs they’ve been learning with each other and a few guest professional musicians. Students of all ages play together for family, friends, and neighbors.

Pictured below are some scenes from Guitarmageddon 2022. Nineteen musicians performed, including guitarists and bassists studying with me, and a few drummers studying with my friend Andreas Brade.
